Gemstones to Work with the Moon
The moon is a powerful source of magick for practitioners of all forms. Having something solid and tangible to wear or carry with you can help you live a more magickal day while you’re working with a particular moon phase. Here are a few of our favorite gemstones for working with the moon.
Selenite
Selenite’s name means “Moon Glow,” and this shimmery stone is perfect for cleansing negative energy and raising the vibrations in your space. It’s also a great stone for working with the Full Moon’s energy and can help you connect with higher spiritual sources.
Moonstone
Whether you choose peach, rainbow, or green moonstone, this is obviously an excellent gemstone for working with the moon. It’s associated with Hecate and a great tool for working on your intuition and divination during the Waning and Dark Moon. It also helps restore emotional balance, so if you’re the type of witch who’s impacted by the Full Moon’s energy, carry a moonstone with you before and after this phase. You may find it helps!
Moon Quartz/Girasol
Girasol helps you align with all the moon's phases and the Divine Feminine. The stone itself is reflective, and its nature reflects everything around you. This will bring about more self-awareness and can help you deepen your contemplation and meditation practice. If you want to amplify your dreams, keep girasol at your bedside.
Bloodstone
Bloodstone is associated with bringing things to life. You can use this stone to help you birth a new state of your spirit or work on your manifestations during the Waxing and Full Moon. A beautiful affirmation for working with this stone is, “I am birthing a new reality.”
Aventurine
Aventurine brings abundance and healing, and it’s also a wonderful stone for the Dark Moon when we rest between the release from the previous Waning Moon and prepare for the upcoming New Moon. This is one of my favorite stones as it’s known to be a mood lifter and an aid in problem-solving.
